With all the places in the Philippines, we identified the destinations that are truly ‘must-see' for every Filipino (or Pinoy) to visit or experience at least once in their lifetime. The list is not much but it will you the best glimpse of the country's major islands. Luzon is a mountainous region filled with valleys, rivers and rainforests. Visayas, on the other hand is made of a network of islands known for its pristine beaches, exotic island destinations and rich marine life. Mindanao offers both. It has an ample share of mountains, jungles and rainforests with patches of island-beaches on the southwest region.

FOOD STOP: The Original Sizzling Sisig, RediscoveredSisig is a Kapampangan term which means "to snack on something sour". Sizzling Sisig on the other hand, is a Filipino dish made up of chopped pig ears and chicken liver seasoned with kalamansi and chili. It's origins can be traced back when local residents of Angeles bought unused pig ears from American Commissaries of Clark Airbase in Angeles, Pampanga and turn it into a dish known today.
Lucia Cunanan of Angeles City invented the recipe and her restaurant, "ALing Lucing's" was credited and acknowledged by the Department of Tourism which made Angeles City the "Sisig Capital of the Philippines' in 1974. An annual Sisig Festival that showcases the finest Sisig recipes, are held every December wherein a search for the finest Sisig dishes are recognized.
